Designing the House

The Homeowners

We sat down with Jim and Darlene in the winter of 2015. The couple had in hand pictures and cutouts of what they saw themselves living in. Our project managers worked in tandem with Jim and Darlene, to design a concept home that would accurately represent their vision.

As a newly retired couple, Jim and Darlene found themselves needing a new home that met the needs of there extended family. This included six active grand children that frequently enjoy being in the company of Jim and Darlene. With the extra little feet running around, it became a priority to have; an open concept, with easy to clean flooring, extra seating in the form of a bar style counter top, and space for a harvest style dining room table.

Long Term Operation Costs

With energy effeciency as our goal, the home was constructed with Insulated Concrete Forms, high U factor windows, and a high efficiency propane boiler.

Zero Compromise Style and Design

Meeting our clients needs is only one aspect of our job, meeting our clients personal style is another. For Jim and Darlene it was to have modern home, with a stunning bar style counter top, with a beautiful decor.

A Home for All to Enjoy

Construction is the art of making a meaningful whole out of many parts. Buildings are witnesses to the human ability to construct concrete things. I believe that the real core of all architectural work lies in the act of construction. At the point in time concrete materials are assembled and erected, the architecture we have been looking for becomes part of the real world.
